As expected, it was an amazing backyard affair, full of pirates, hidden treasures, face-painting and motorcycle gangs (you'll see).
I've said it before and I will say it again: surrounding yourself with awesome parents and their amazing kids is a sure-fire way to make sure you are an awesome parent of an amazing kid yourself.
Please follow the jump for more pictures. Enjoy.
It was this awesome little dude's birthday party.
He chose to defy convention and wear his pirate hat his own way. I loved it.
Each table was topped with decorative treasure chests.
However, there was a real treasure chest in the backyard as well.
Lil Sippy Cup wanted to break into it immediately.
These were a big hit as well.
Remember the motorcycle gangs I mentioned? Here they are.
There was a pretty intense game of "Pop the Bubbles" which is, if you didn't know,
one of Lil Sippy Cup's favorite games.
"Ring-Around-The-Rosie", however, is not one of his favorite games.
Nevertheless, they won him over again with the color wheel parachute games.
After the first round of activities, it was time for some face-painting.
Lil Sippy Cup opted for a classic symbol of justice and power.
After the face-painting, it was time to "Stick the Parrot on the Pirate", a much more humane
and PETA-friendly version of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey".
It isn't so much that he doesn't know how to follow the rules; it is much
more the fact that the rules get in the way of him winning.
As a prize, the treasure chest was sprung open
and everyone got to dig in and choose accordingly.
And, as a final treat, the kids were offered Pirate Rice Krispie Treat Lollipops.
They were dangerously delicious and the perfect way to end an awesome day.
